I would love to give higher stars to this place, and I really loved my experience there, but there is one major gripe I have about the food-- I will get into detail about it later.We started off being seated in the front of the place, until I went to the bathroom and discovered the charming back patio with burners and a tree with yellow lights on it --they also have a nice little sidewalk front patio. There is a wonderful farm in my community which makes the best goat cheese and on rare occasions make a ricotta cheese with goats milk. Served in a mason jar, the Ricotta had a very creamy and light flavor and was very very sweet. I'll be making this again. Simply delicious.

(Can be made 1 day ahead. Well, made this again with a regular ricotta and it was not nearly as good as when I used really fresh ricotta. I was looking for a wonderful vehicle for this cheese and I have certainly found it with this recipe!

Very easy to make and a nice change from ice cream and berries, which is one of my favorites. I wouldn't change a thing. The menu was too alluring so we continued with the Pizza con Prosciutto e Rucola ... prosciutto di parma, fresh mozzarella, fontina, arugula (My lactose hating tummy, despite double doses of lactaid, suffered dearly for this meal-I'd do it again damn it...I'd do it again!) But if you can find fresh ricotta, which is less grainy than some of the commercial types, use it and omit the cream cheese. Add an egg, a little baking pwd. Remove from heat Definitely use the fresh ricotta, as the stuff from the tub in the grocery store just will NOT get smooth! I say its kind of simple country meets modern Italian. If it is style and ambiance you want, Davanti nails it. I don't want to be nit-picky, but Where is the honey? Great date night locale, but the foods lacks  5-star praise. This dish definitally changed my outlook on ricotta. Super easy. Since it's been around for awhile it's a lot easier to get a table here than some of the other restaurants in Little Italy which is a huge plus.
Perfect dessert for a warm night! Yes, it gets drizzled - thanks for pointing this out! Sinful, I could have eaten it all night and been blissfully happy. Delicious and so simple!!! First stop in was the beginning of a beautiful friendship, solidified by their commitment to Bloody Mary's. The wine glass presentation makes it a great dessert to serve to company, and the ricotta mixture keeps for a few days. After a small hiccup (we went to Enoteca Style, two blocks down by mistake), we arrived at Davanti and were ushered to a small table in the back patio under a beautifully lit tree.

It was AMAZING. Their outdoor patio in the back is cute too. In the summertime, they sometimes host events out back on the patio. friendly service.

I have to say one thing.. it was TOO SALTY! I had a carton of ricotta in the fridge and decided to make this since it seemed quick and easy (it was!). I love the decor, the ambiance, the style, the staff ... but honestly the food was not at the level of their price point. I needed more bacon to go with my bacon.
